Oh dear ...
I nearly had a pup from Jandaz, a breeder in Wales. But I wanted one locally really so he didn't have so far to travel and I couldn't bear the JukeeDoodle waiting list.
He isn't perfect, but I am happy with my choice
He looks pretty perfect to me, a gorgeous pup with a little bit of cheekyness!!
I have emailed the lady from Jukeedoodle asking how long the waiting list is ... I am presuming veeerrry long!! We aren't in a rush but I am not sure I have the patience for years!! I looked at Jandaz but they are the other side of the country from us and I really don't want to go down their delivery route as I do want close contact with the breeder. There dont seem to be many recommended breeders in the South East which is where we are .0 -

Don't go near any breeder that even offers 'delivery' as an option! :eek:0 -
Please, please, please do not use a breeder who offers to deliver. These people are almost always puppy farmers. Dogs kept in terrible conditions and bred to death producing puppies that are not socialised and often with health problems.
Also, just needed to add that this terrible fashion for cockerpoo/cavapoo/labradoodle/jackapoo is resulting in a huge surge in unscrupulous breeders. Ask yourself, five years ago would you have paid £600 or even £1000 for a dog which you would have classed a mongrel? Also, a cockerpoo bred to a cockerpoo is what? A cockerpoo? No!
My last point is, up until recently I owned a very busy dog grooming parlour - I have lost count how many times a cockerpoo ended up with us in a terrible matted state as people do not realise how much work these coats can be. As somebody else correctly pointed out you don't know what kind of coat your pup will have and most of these coats need daily grooming or they will matt and tear the poor dog's skin.
Please give an unwanted dog a home from a rescue centre. You will never regret it.0 -

I wont be, I am fully aware of why breeders offer delivery. However, the particular breeder I was looking at did not fit into your usual category and did not only offer delivery and you could also view the pups in their own home. However, this was what put me off and alarm bells rang when I read that as being one of the incentives. Please, please, please do not use a breeder who offers to deliver. 10 years ago, if I had the money that I do now, yes I would have paid out £1000 for the right dog. It doesnt matter to what what 'label' the dog has but it does matter that the dog is right for me. I am not after a cockerpoo crossed with a cockerpoo, I am after an F1 cocker-poodle cross, call it what you want.
As a child we had a rescue dog my parents did regret it so please don't say I wont regret as you cannot know that. My parents dog bit a child and then had to be put down, it was their biggest regret and they would never touch rescue dogs again, this had a huge effect on me and my sister and I would be very reluctant to take that risk with my own family.0 -
Never understand why anyone would want to dilute something as fabulous as a poodle. Intelligent, loving, fun, amazing with children, beautiful, I could go on for hours. And they get really guilty if they do something wrong. Funny as hell!0

Mine nearly gave me a heart attack today due to being far TOO clever though. I'm not in the mood to recommend them tonight!0
