uk travel insurance flights

I am travelling next week. Flying Glasgow to stansted n back to collect daughter from dad. If flight down delayed i wanna be covered. But if i am best getting an annual policy as this could be necessary 3-4 times a year plus possible hold i. Europe next year. What's my best bet?

    It's usually a 4-6 hour delay (minimum) before they pay out which is usually peanuts anyway. I think I'd self insure in this case. How long is the turn around and which airline, i'm guessing Easyjet.
    Which flight times?
