Did they get the key wedged in or something?
Ive put the wrong key in mine, The immobiliser kicks in and the car wont start.
Put the right key in and it starts. What damage did they do? What part are they waiting for?

All I know is that after using the other key, our key no longer works, so maybe they have damaged it. They've said it will need a new 'part' and that they've given the barrel to their garage to get the right part. It will mean a new key which has annoyed me as I'll now have one key for the locks, one for the boot and one for the ignition! They refused to match it to the existing key as it would cost more than the car is worth. They offered to give us the market value of the car, which they claim is £100!
I don't want to scrap my car though, I want my car, with a working ignition like it had when I took it in!0 -
Well the garage has now said they're getting the ignition barrel changed to fit our key and it could take weeks.
The regional manager has now agreed to get me a hire car. Result :j0 -
I would refuse that repair. I would want one key for all the locks.
You can get locks built to match the key. The cost is their problem.
Tell them fixing it properly will be cheaper than you taking them to court for the costs to repair it properly.

That's what they've now agreed to do. It'll take a while but they've said they'll get me a hire car delivered to my home today so I'm happy.0
