MOT centre has wrecked my lock, what can I do?
My car went in for MOT on Saturday morning. They tried to start it with someone else's car key, activating the anti-theft lock system. They got a lock specialist in who said he couldn't get the part till today. Just phoned them and they said the lock guy is still waiting for the part.
So, I'm still without my car and it still hasn't been MOT'd. Where do I stand? Is it just bad luck, or am I entitled to some compensation?

They're paying to fix it and have said that MOT will be free (it was only £25 anyway) but I've been without a car since Saturday and they've said it might not get fixed today. It was fine before they had it!
Spiro- am I entitled to a hire car from them?0 -
Because of THEIR mistake you have been denied use of your car, so I would say so but you will probably have to push them hard for it. Lay it on thick about not being able to get to work, shopping etc etc. They're paying to fix it and have said that MOT will be free (it was only £25 anyway) but I've been without a car since Saturday and they've said it might not get fixed today.
