Difference between these 2 specs before I buy?

On the phone Dell undercut the internet offer by about £40 while sticking to the 'special' of the week, which was a free carry case one week and a 120GB hdd the next (up from 80GB). However they would not then lower the price when I said I was happy with an 80GB hdd.
Think you get a better deal on the phone as they are on commission? I got fed up with their lack of flexibility on some issues (bluetooth for eg), sticking to the web price rigidly while admitting that in a week, a month etc the PC would probably be a lot cheaper.
I'm back to square 1 as the IBM/Lenovo weighs a hernia inducing 3.1kgs and the Toshy Tecras seem to have gone Trubright on me despite what they told me on the phone. Must buy soon as it's getting harder to get XP Pro.0 -
How different is the 1501 than the 6400 Dell pls? I know the former has AMD and latter has Intel processors.
I am looking at a really big price diff between the two. Do they have exactly the same keyboard and screen (non Trulife) and is it worth upgrading to the TL56 processor? What are the speakers like?
I cannot see anywhere on the Dell website that the 1501's warranty options are UK only despite being told that on the phone. Can anyone post the link before I challenge it with Dell?
I am baulking at spending £200 more on a ThinkPad although am maybe being stupid. It is to be my main PC for business apps, hours of typing fun and music/photos/genuine fun.
adi
Graphics card on 1501 is ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 256Hypermemory. Means nowt to me.
Prob in wrong thread: does anyone have any opinion on the Samsung X11 C 14". Reasonable keyboard and speakers, but big price. I saw one in John Lewis. Vista though, but with 2048MB RAM. Anyone got any Samsung experience - reliability, customer service?
many thanks.0 -

The 1501 is the same size and look of 6400 apart from
No Media buttons at the front
No Media Direct button (never used this)
No TV Out
3in1 Card reader rather than 5in1
Also it does come without trulife.

As long as it reads SD card, that would be nice.
Spec is the one with XP Pro on dmxdimension. They have a free printer this week, which hopefully if I do go for this lappy, could switch for a carry case (?). I wondered if Dell uses cheaper components as it's about £200 cheaper than the 6400 or 640M same spec. There is no bluetooth which is disappointing. I wondered if the keyboard and screen and build quality were cheaper than the 6400?
I am keen on an EU warranty too. Searched again but can't find anything under the ? explanation or have I missed it. Also if you buy a basic 90 day C&R or 1 yr NBD, do Dell always call to offer you more? Ideally would like 2 yrs NBD.
Dell refer to this as 'entry level' PC which raises my queries. I'm not aware that having an Intel processor would make such a big diff to price?
Not bothered about media buttons, although it's good to play CDs without booting up Windows.
What are these screens like in office lighting btw? many tx.
This spec comes out at about £575 incl VAT and shipping.
