Right now I'm really really confused!!! My OH has just spoken to the surveyor and they talked through all of the points on the survey and he said that we have nothing to worry about. He said he has to mention all of the points but there is nothing that we need to address immediately and in his opinion the house is a good buy and all of the points he made are normal for a house of that age! He doesn't even think we need to get any quotes at the moment and that we should just go ahead!

We had similar when we bought our house - remember the surveyors have to mention EVERYTHING on paper or they are liable to be sued!

As long as there's no serious problems e.g. subsidence, roof needing replacement, electrics unsafe etc then I'd say it sounds like a good buy.

I'd definitely take the advice of your surveyor from your conversation on the phone to him.

The report looks standard to me , the surveyor is covering his back so you can't say you never mentioned this in the report and try and claim for anything. We could all go round our houses and see a crack here or there, thats all this is.
