Hyundai Getz difficulty starting cold
I still have got 1 month left on my warranty! My Getz (20.7k miles) takes several cranks of the ignition before it starts. It feels like the car is struggling for its last breath. Once the engine is warm, there is no issue with starting. Its been like this for a few days.
I park it outside and generally go on short drives - 10 miles or under.
I am having checked over by the local Hyundai garage on Thursday. Luckily, I walk to work.

When was the last service? It probably just needs new plugs and a little clean up thats all.
Your comment about driving the car very little is actually a bad thing... It's a common idea that a car with low miles is better than a higher mileage vehicle. In reality a car is much more like a person, it needs gentle exercise everyday to keep it running decently. Cars that never get use tend to seize up and will eventually throw a hissy fit when forced to do any motorway or dual carriageway mileage, exactly the same as asking a tubby guy to run a marathon!
Take it to the garage, they will probably recommend a service and/or stick it on diagnostics to see exactly what part is starting to break down. They might even just find its a little damp... a common problem with cars that never see much use.
In future, don't be scared to give the car a run somewhere. Even if it's a half hour motorway trip to go shopping or something. You'll thank yourself when the car starts easily every morning!0 -
As above.
Damp leads? Open the bonnet and give a good airing, and/or take it for a good run and let it get up to temp.0 -
About once every 3 weeks, I go on a longer journey - like 50 miles0
