Not reading all the listing.....blame the Ipad !

Had a problem with a couple of buyers last month ,not reading ( scrolling down ) all the description in the listing and then demanding a refund of bid plus all postage for return of item
I did point out the relevent facts were mentioned 5 times in the listing and that I would refund - but not the postage as they hadnt read it properly
Now realise what has happened as they have left feedback ( positive ) that
" the page in question was not compatible with theyre Ipad and therefore an innacurrate purchase"
like thats my fault - the equipment they use to look at items !?
even though they left a positive ,Im not sure I like having theyre comments displayed like that - I realise they will sink down the pile after time ,but am tempted to reply to the comment along the lines of " not responsible for what monitor you choose to view listings! - you were offered a refund"
At least it awnsers the question of why some bidders weren`t reading all the listings and was considering changing the format
- perhaps I should still change it though ,if more and more people are going to view them thru Ipads/Smartphones ??!:cool:

A new acroynm to go with TSFE, TTTUT Too thick to use tablet

iPads can see every page on ebay fine, the fault clearly occurs with the user...0 -
Something very strange happens fairly frequently when I view my listings on my iPad (and occasionally on my desktop Mac) and that is all the text gets squashed into one long narrow column. This means that what would normally be shown on one screen takes ages to scroll through.0

The mobile phone apps don't do much to encourage people to read the descriptions (it's an extra click and not a very clear ine), it was one reason they introduced longer titles. As mobile sales (I think) are pushing 20% of Ebay and rising all the time it's something to get used to, especially as buyers know they can just get a refund if they return..0

Agreed and I've mentioned it lots of times on this forum. The mobile phone apps don't do much to encourage people to read the descriptions (it's an extra click and not a very clear ine)
Some buyers don't even read the whole description when its presented to them in full on a PC or laptop screen - of course they are not going to read it if they actually have to click another button!! Title, price and photo is all that a lot of buyers go on!! Unfortunately its part and parcel of selling on ebay - you just have to hope your luck holds out and you don't get too many of them buying from you!0 -
dont know about apps but the ebay mobile site does clearly encourage potential buyers to check the listing on the full ebay site before they place a bid or press buy it now.0

It's probably taken less notice of than the health warnings on cigarette packets.greenstreetprince wrote: »dont know about apps but the ebay mobile site does clearly encourage potential buyers to check the listing on the full ebay site before they place a bid or press buy it now..0 -

As much as it may be justified to write such things, if I came across your listings and saw this response left to one of your feedback, I wouldn't purchase from you.
Be professional and let it drop.
Its unfair, but you won't lose sales by doing so.0 -
I'd partially agree with this, adding a comment to the feedback would just highlight it to me (assuming I was looking at your feedback)sharpy2010 wrote: »As much as it may be justified to write such things, if I came across your listings and saw this response left to one of your feedback, I wouldn't purchase from you.

Personally I think it's better to just leave it.0 -
However I don't think I have ever had the mobile site on my iPad. On my mobile, yes.
Same here, I don't use an app on my ipad, I just view ebay and can see everything I can see on my main PC or laptop.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
