I live in blackpool. My boyfriend is coming to stay soon, theres a 241 code floating round with irn bru to use online, you'll have to track down a glass bottle of irn bru and take the metal bottle lid with you when you pick your bands up. I found a bottle that doesnt mention the offer but the metal caps are the same on all bottles. Can also get them with tesco vouchers if you have a clubcard.

There is a bus that goes straight into marton mere every half an hour that goes past the zoo into town where you can then get other buses. Can get saver tickers for £3.50 a day per adult. Parking is hard to track down for free, can be pricey if youre in an attraction all day, most residential areas have double yellows or permits only.

Try checking out the bus timetables for Blackpool Transport, unfortunately as I am classed as a "newbie" I can' post a link, but if you just google it you will find out.

If so it should be reasonably quiet on weekdays though free parking isn't that easy to come by. Council parking information is here: http://www.blackpool.gov.uk/Services/A-F/CouncilCarParks/

If you want to use the bus note that it's only every 45 minutes and stops running around 6pm - it might be extended during the Illuminations but I doubt it. The site you're going to is in a great location but a bit off the beaten track for public transport; driving from there however is easy.

Simply head towards the motorway (M55) junction but instead of joining the motorway head west along Yeadon Way - this is a converted railway track and will eventually lead you (along Seasiders Way) to the Central car park. You can buy long-term tickets which work out as £5 a day or less - unfortunately they don't seem to be interchangeable between car parks.

Of course the downside of this is that the promenade is a long walk - so you have to balance the convenience of the car with the fact that a day bus ticket is also valid on trams (£3.50 for a day, £13.50 for a week).

Also take into account that the illuminations will have started by then, so weekend parking/evening driving along the prom will be worse.
