Word must be there otherwise you couldn't open it!

If you can't find winword.exe in the Programs Files (x86) folders, then do a full search of the PC.

To prove it just type winword.exe in the run option (windows key + R)

I know .... but done a full search - can not find - also run command as above states winword not found!!!

Click on the start button, then "all programs", look for "microsoft office", click on it and see if you can open Word that way. If you can't then Word isn't installed on your computer and you'll have to reinstall it.

Sounds like a corruption... maybe winword has been changed? but then the registry etc would need to know = malware?

an idea to see what file name is opening when you start it from programs.

Boot into safe mode; go into the task manager proccesses tab and make a note of the items, then open word and see what has been added.

If you are still stuck, you could try a repair of office 2010 from the control panel.
