Zafira (B) 2006 roof box - any recommendations

As per the title - we've got a 2006 plate Zafira with the solid roof rails which have the locating "lumps" not drilled holes. We're looking for a half width box to give us a bit more space when going camping - however the fixing points on the rails could rule out some boxes. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations.

Even with the roof rails you need to buy a foot pack and set of bars to mount the roofbox to. Use the car selector here:

Got those! (well the feet anyway as a friend's relatives emigrated and left them their Zafira Thule feet - just need to get some 120cm bars to match). However the Zafira 2006 model has 3 fixed points that you can get bar feet to grip - front, middle and rear - the distance from front to rear is something like 1250mm which is too long for some boxes, the rear to middle is about 550 which will be too short for some, whilst the front are about 710 which works but with a long box leaves it hanging strangely over the front windscreen!

Most boxes have the front clamp on a slider and a row of holes for you to adjust the where the clamps fit on the rear (or it may be the other way around). So you can adjust the distance of the clamps to fit the bars.

I have a halfords one, I bought it 2nd hand, Silly money for new ones.

Inside there were markings to show where you can drill the holes to fit the mounting plates.

Dont see an issue with a minimum of a 1250mm spacing. Mine would easily fit that. And mines the short wide one. Longer style ones will have more options.

I fit mine well forward on the rails. It puts more weight over the front wheels/axle rather than overload the rear.

Probably not a log in it. Remember its only designed for lightish items.
