Next PPI

Can someone help please.
I've had a Next Directory account since 1990 and I've noticed I'm paying payment protection. I rang Next who told me that PPI was automatically included on all accounts prior to 1993. I was also told that as it's listed separately on my statements I knew that I was paying it therefore I don't have a claim.
As PPI was automatically added to Next accounts prior to 1993, I was never asked if I either wanted or needed it, which I don't.
They have now sent me a form to cancel the PPI.
Do I have a claim or are Next right saying that as it's on the monthly statement I knew about it.

Hi
Can they prove that you knew about it?
Such as providing you with the agreement signed for this product.
You could try writing and ask them to send you the written info they have with the copy of the agreement.
It may have been the case that you never signed up for it, but as it was on statements (like one of my cases), you assumed back then it was all part of the package.
No harm in keeping at them, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi
Thanks for the advice.
I'll write to them and see what happens.
