i was told u need to drop the water pressure right down and pressurise the EV. Then do the same
otherwise some of the water could be sat in the EV stopping u from adding extra pressure

you need to release all the pressure within the boiler, i normally turn off the flow & return taps under the boiler then open up the pressure relieve valve & KEEP it open when you pump up the expansion vessel as you will prob find this has water in it, you also need to check what pressure you need to pump it upto, re-fill the boiler if it has an internal filling loop or if not close the prv open the flow/return taps & re-fill the boiler to 1 bar.
