ps3 slim warranty

I bought a ps3 slim for my newphew recently. Normally when you buy products you get a warranty registration card inside, but with this unit there was no such thing, I searched around the internet and noticed that there isn't a registration process at all.

A lot of people are saying, go by the receipt, but the receipt does not have my full info (no address, just name) and there is no serial number of the ps3 on there.

Will sony still honour this warranty?

Worked for me in the past. When DS1 PS3 broke I just sent a photocopy of receipt to Sony.

Just an aside.... it's worth getting a Nationwide credit card, and buying electrical items on that, as they will extend warranty for another year free of charge.
