  • We are getting married at Coombe Lodge in Blagdon which is around 9miles from WSM. It's lush! They have winter offers which make hire £1500ish and a similar one for Sundays throughout the year.
Will be interested to see what suppliers you use as we are looking around for things at the mo! We live in Wiltshire so is making finding people a tad trickier as we can't really go on recommendations.

dangers - Ah, yeah we need a lot of parking I expect so that might be a big issue.

sparkly momma - Coome Lodge is beautiful. My OHs mum is pushing for us to get married there but I haven't seen it in the flesh yet, but £1500 is an amazing price for somewhere so gorgeous. I will keep this thread up to date with any suppliers I find, hopefully we can help each other :)

hamsterfan1 - My only worry about getting married at The Winter Gardens is that I used to go to the under 18 nights they held there and I have far too many memories of teenage debauchery, lol!

you may find this useful too - especially if it's not for reception only

That's wonderful hamsterfan1! Thank you so much for that!

He certainly has some beautiful pictures PetuliaGristle. Do you mind me asking, do you remember his pricing as there's none on his website?

So we have decided on Woodlands Castle as the venue and have a date booked in for March 23rd 2013! :D

I'm really focussed at the moment on finding:
    Someone to make macaroons
    Cheap local craft store
    Somewhere to purchase vintage suitcases

Any ideas are most welcome x

We got married at Coombe Lodge, Blagdon last month and it was worth every penny!
For photographer I would recommend Westphotography. Martyn is brilliant! His contact details are - 01275 846072 / 07779389718 / martyn@westphotography.co.uk. Our photos of Coombe Lodge are on his blog on his website.
For videographer i would recommend 21 Wedding Films. Julian was amazing on the day and very discrete. His contact details are - 0117 9495522 / 07973850889.
One thing i would say is DO NOT stay in The Garden House accommodation on site. Although it is the cheapest option, i found the lady who runs it very rude and difficult. I was so calm before I arrived there and then her appalling attitude ruined my mood and caused a long delay in the morning preparations.
If i did my day again, the only thing i would change is i wouldnt stay in The Garden House!!!!
We stayed in the Plush Hotel the night before and they were amazing!!! I would thoroughly recommend staying there! They made me feel so special, giving me a bride to be badge on arrival, giving the kids colouring pads and pens, they moved furniture so my make up artist had the best light, etc. They were brilliant and made me feel so relaxed and calm!!!! I was thoroughly enjoying every minute of my preparations UNTIL i arrived at The Garden House!!!
