Algarve in September?

Hi!
Thinking of booking a couple of weeks in September to the Algarve.
Never been before so have a couple of questions please.
What can we expect from the weather? Still nice and hot?
Prices for stuff like food and drink. How much for a pint and a meal etc?
Any recommendations for resorts? We are looking at Albufeira but if anybody has any more suggestions would be willing to look around.
Thanks everybody!

The weather should still be hot but not as much as on the Mediterranean. The eastern end is far less spoilt and built up.0

Weather is sunny and warm well into October. Food and drink to suit all budgets. We liked Vilamoura and Quarteira. Completely different places and you can walk between the two. A car is worth having to see more than the resorts.0

Weather will still be hot and it will be less crowded. It gets cool at night though, even in July.
Food varies, you can pay similar to the UK or eat where the local eat which offer great value.
My choice would be Lagos, Alvor or Tavira. In Albufeira the old town is nice.0 -
I went to Vilamoura last week, stayed in a villa, was really nice. Definitely get a car.0

Been to the Algarve several times in September - Always had great weather. Sunny and warm! Found lots of reasonably priced places to eat out. I've always stayed at Armacao de Pera, its a nice quiet little resort, would not hesitate to go back! I'd recommend a visit to sand city while you're there, the sand sculptures are amazing and each year is a different theme.0

Just back from a week in Albufeira. Weather was perfect and I had a great time.
You definitely need to stop in the old town though which is lovely, right by the beach and with loads of bars and restaurants to choose from. The newer parts of town are just anonymous hotel and villa complexes and the "Strip" area is ghastly.
Prices weren't quite as cheap as I'd been expecting but it was still very good value for money and the quality was good for the price paid. In some parts of Spain you get very cheap food and drink offers but the quality is sometimes a let down.0
