Hi all just a quick question
Lets say i have 6 years at a company so i get 6 weeks notice period but redundancies are next week and shy of 7 years by 5 weeks .
Does my 6 week notice take me to 7 years service ;should i get redundancy for 7 years instead of 6
Thanks

I believe that if the notice period takes you beyond the anniversary date, then it does mean an extra year is taken into account. That happened to me 2 years ago, I was made redundant in April just 6 weeks before my 15th anniversary, however the 3 months notice (which was paid but not worked) meant I got a payout based on 15 years service.0

the answer is yes .
You add statutory notice(1 week per full years service) to the date you are given notice, that or the actual termination date if later is used to determine the relevent date for redundancy.
You count backwards from that date to determine the service for redundancy.0
