Weeds, Weeds and more Weeds... Any advice!

Hello,
first time poster on this board so hope I'm at the right place.

We are having a nightmare with weeds and wondered if anyone could advise what to do. We had a huge area block paved over grass a few years ago, unfortunately the guys that did it turned out to be a bit cow boy ish and we are left with a mess and have never been able to contact them again...but that's a whole other story!

Anyway, this paved area constantly has weeds/grass coming through between the bricks, hubby spent the whole weekend last month going down every crack with a special tool and hand pulled every weed up and it looked lovely but low and behold 4 weeks later it looks as bad as ever and its just not possible to spend that long every other week doing it.

Does anyone know of anything we can buy to put down and maybe kill the grass/ weeds through the cracks?? The only problem is we have 2 dogs and keeping them inside for a length of time would be a nightmare.

thanks for any help offered, i jst want to be able to sit in my back garden and it look nice!

x

You can use round-up on a hot day, you should only need to keep the dogs inside until it dry's. Any glyphosate based weed killer should work, round-up is just the brand name HTH

Common household salt will do the trick. Buy the cheapest salt you can get, sprinkle it down the cracks of the slabs then use a little water to get it to infuse into the weed.

Do not use salt near any planting beds, only use it on slabbed areas or anywhere you will not be growing anything, salt will destroy plants & make the ground unusable.
