problems transferring balance to barclaycard

in Credit cards
Hi,
just after some friendly advice, wondered if anybody had the same problem as I did.
I just rang barclaycard to transfer £2900 approx. to my platinum card which I've had around 18mths. I recently transferred the balance of the barclaycard (£6200) to M&S under their 3.9% transfer offer, so my card is in credit by 3p.
When I got through to an operator, she first told me that any transfer would be subject to their cash advance rate (over 20%). Naturally I queried this, and then she said sorry, the rate would be 6.9%.
I said ok, lets do the transfer then, and was told I couldnt do it, as there were no balance transfer offers on my account. Her supervisor said the same thing, and recommended I go into a branch and see what they could do for me!
This really p'd me off, as I thought I could do this sort of thing easily (got the idea from the rate tart article actually!). Seems strange they dont want my money, and therefore the possibility of making a profit from me! naturally a complaint was faxed pronto.
Any advice gratefully received,
B
