It could also be down to the way the tyres have worn or they could be directional tyres that are now rotating the wrong way.
  • Hey folks. Thanks so much for all your great suggestions and information over the weekend. Didn't get a chance to check over the weekend, but came out of the house this morning and discovered only three wheel nuts on the offside front wheel!

Drove up to the garage in the village and they lent us a nut. The other three were loose on that wheel, so it looks like they all just hadn't been tightened properly (good call!) and we probably lost one on the motorway at some point since Thursday.

Our Smart garage (yes, Kate, McSmart in Airdrie :)) was closed over the weekend, but we'll get it in there and get a new nut (so we can return the borrowed one).

Could have been so much worse I guess, and one more car lesson learned! Life is an education, huh? :o
