Is it possible that the OP has connected wirelessly to the BT Openzone / Fon 'public' side of the home hub as well?
Using your BT log in credentials would presumably allow this?
(not sure as I'm not a BT subscriber)

It's possible, but then the IP Scanner would probably show the laptop with a BTFon IP address, not one allocated by the router. I'm not sure if it would also show the IP of other devices connecting to BTFon, as (I would hope) it keeps them isolated from each other. How do I add a signature?0

Yes you'd hope the public computers wouldn't be visible to each other.
