I bought an wireless xbox controller about 7 months ago from Very. The right joystick has become very slow to respond. Called Very who directed me to the manufacturer Microsoft. Not happy about that, but I understand sometimes it's quicker to deal with the manufacturer directly.
Got on live chat with Microsoft, explained my problem. They said no problem and asked when I purchased the controller. I told them 7 months ago. They told me that they only offer a 90 warrently on controllers and they couldn't help me.
Is this right? Surely under the SOGA they have to repair, replace or (part) refund me for it?
Went back to Very who insisted I deal with Microsoft.
How can I deal with this? What is the best way to resolve it? I'm not quite sure of how it all works after 6 months... do I have to do the whole independant report thing to get somewhere?

Microsoft do not have to offer you anything over whatever their warranty says.
If it says 90 days, then 90 days it is.
Soga only applies to your purchase from Very.
To get a resolution from Very, you need to speak to them again, reminding them of their obligations.0 -
With the controller you should of gotten a Warranty leaflet. See if you can find that.0

I see now with the contract being with Very and all that.
I expected better of Microsoft, only heard good things about their customer service.
My other half told me to try the live chat again and tell them it's only 2 months old. Not sure I'd be comfortable doing that... surely they have a copy of my previous chat as I was signed in at the time. Men - owt for nowt!!
Going for a moan with Very... any hints or tips to stop them directing me back to Microsoft? My contract is with them and they have to resolve it? Something like that? Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0 -

I find it easier to phone up Xbox (0800 587 1102).
I've claimed several times on the warranty for my 360 (once for red rings, once for faulty PSU and once for faulty controller) and despite this, when I called a few weeks ago because of a faulty headset they were able to send me a replacement one out free of charge.
My 360 is 5 years old btw.The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Hi SaLoGo,
We would like to help with your query.
If you have spoken to Microsoft and they have directed you back to us then we can take over from this point. We do ask that you contact the manufacturers of electrical items firstly as they would be able to provide technical assistance and diagnose any faults. They also may be able to repair any faults easily.
You can email us at Network@VeryHQ.co.uk and we would be able to help.
Many Thanks
Dave

Try and re register it with the box.
Hold down the little button on the xbox while you hold down the same on the controller and watch the leds rotate.(or something like that).
Also try swap the battery packs around (what state are the batteries in?)0 -
Been trying that for last few days before I took it up with Microsoft and Very. Batteries were fine.
Went back to Very and had a good whinge, replacement on the way
