malware removal of "incredibar"

I don't know how but I seem to have installed some malware in the form of a a toolbar called "incredibar" by My Start.
I have uninstalled the program from the control panel and I have removed and added firefox and IE but I can't shift it from Chrome.
Any advice or tips greatly appreciated.

See if this works for you.

Open Chrome. Click the Wrench > Settings > Under search click Manage search engines.

Make Google or something the default, then Highlight the Mystart/Incredibar entry and click the X at the end of the bar.

Here are a couple of suggestions.

Option 1

Boot into Safe Mode and run your Anti-Spyware program. It should pick it up and remove it.

Option 2

1. Open Firefox and click on Tools.

2. Click Add-Ons and the Add-Ons Manager will open.

3. Click on Extentions.

4. Look for incredibar among the list of extentions and click REMOVE, NOT DISABLE.

5. Check the All Programs from the Start Menu and delete any traces of incredibar saved in the list.

6. Clear any files you have deleted from the Recycle Bin.

I hope this helps.

If the above options do not work I have a couple of other suggestions you could try.

It's good you want to help, but did you actually read the first four posts? :huh:

I hate Toolbars and have grown suspicious of them. Avoid unless from well known source. I think one can get the same functions with apps ie Chrome App store etc.
