HELP please housing benefit payment

Hi ,we claim HB and my partner got her wage slip on monday for june showing an increase of about £30 per month a slight payrise..

it started from this month so yesterday (friday) i went down to the local council office and took it in,we are due a payment by cheque on monday but previously it has always arrived on a saturday morning in the post.well nothing showed up today so i am now worried sick.i suffer from aspergers and anxiety very bad..

the lady at the council said yesterday even if she wanted to she could not stop the payment sent to us as it was to late and the cheque was sorted out on tuesday?,she said she will have to suspend the claim and this is normal and request it to be reassesed we might have to produce julys payslip too? but not to worry at all this months payment due monday has already gone as they are sent 2nd class post,i know it is due monday but like i said have always for the past 5 months got it saturday..

i am now worried sick as i think someone must have physically found the letter with the cheque in and stopped it ..

will it turn up monday.please someone with past experience help.

Don't worry until Monday. Your post person might just be ill.

Remember, HB is all done in arrears so this cheque is still worked out on your previous claim.

yes it was..

im worried sick,if i had gone in next week and done this we would have had a full 4 weeks or so for them to have sorted it..

just cant understand as the council worker said all cheques sent 2nd class so if it was sent yesterday we have always had it on the saturday.

maybe they are sent the same day as the bacs payments are which would have maybe been thursday in which case it would have already gone out:(

2nd class post can take 3 working days to arrive. Working days do not always include weekends.
