Postage Insurance Required???

Hi All,
I'm fairly new to the ebay experience but have been doing OK so far largely thanks to this board. I was just about to bid on a gamecube game ending tomorrow when I noticed that under postal insurance it states (£1.99 Required) Does this mean I have to pay for postal insurance on top of postage, which would be £4.98 in total? This seems very high for a gamecube game! I've paid £2.99 in the past but that was for recorded delivery games. Thanks for any help.

Yeah it does mean that. Are any of the other games cheaper including p&p?0

Wow that was quick, thanks. There's no bids on it at the moment, I've been watching it for a few days and was going to start the bidding off until I saw the postage costs, now my max bid will be £2 lower than originally planned!
Thanks again.

Thanks Hintza, I will, it's just frustrating seeing it not move at all so thought if I put in a low bid it might encourage others to and at least I can then see if there's much interest in it, if there is I'll give it up as a lost cause because of the postage costs and wait for it to come up again.

Hi Lozz, if it was me I would hang on and not bid early, if possible I would leave until last minute or so and then enter my maximum bid. I would just keep an eye on it, others may well be doing the same. I generally have a look at the andale or whatever counter (if available on the item) to give me a rough idea of possible interest.0

Thanks for the info, I put in a 99p bid yesterday and it's got it moving, been outbid twice and am now waiting for the final minute, unfortunately just seen add 50p if paying by Paypal as well so think my maximum bid is going to be too low taking into account £5.48 worth of postage, insurance and paypal fees! The counter says 35 altlhough I should think about 8 of them are my visits, not sure if that's good, bad or indifferent.
