                    Carpet Stains
A while ago, nearly a month now, my brother sustained a really bad hand injury cuasing him to bleed heavily, all over my carpet. At the time it obviously wasn't a concern, couple days later I looked here for ways over cleaning up the carpet. I used salt to draw out the heavy staining, which worked. However it still left an fairly obvious stain. The carpet i'm using is honestly !!!!, it's creme but where the blood is, which is everywhere, it's left the carpet faintly browned.

Not the clearest of pics but you can just about make out the contrast between the carpet and the stains. Any suggestions on cleaning this up?
Structural Gaps
My bedroom is an extension overhanging the front porch. The front door is literally under my room. Where the pillars and walls below my room join to my bedroom there are several gaps. These cause 2 problems
1) Ventilation. The air conditioning in my room is poor, I believe they never installed any or sufficient insulation in here causing it too be too cold in winter and too hot in summer. This isn't really a bigt concern as I can cope easily enough.
2) INSECTS! ARghhhh The gaps below my room are inhabited by all sorts of creepy crawlies. I have no problems with insects other than sheer annoyance, specifically during summer. Although the gaps only allow access to under my floorboards, it may even be possible for insects to push up past that and through the damn carpet. I don't have any visible gaps within my room but what I'd like to do is,
a. Clean all the !!!! out of the gaps. What should I use insecticide? Water and a hose? Should I take any safety precautions when using certain chemicals (if suggested) or be cautious of the effects of spraying chemicals or just water into these gaps incase it causes damage? Any help/tips here greatly appreciated.
b. Once cleaned out, I'd like to close the gaps up. As the pics show some gaps could simply be polyfilled? Whereas the larger ones... I need suggestions, I could block them with something, board them off (unsightly?) any suggestions welcomed.
Large Gap Left side wall

Large Gap Right side pillar

Small Gap above front door

Small Gap right of door(corner)

Full frontal View of porch (bedroom above)

The 2 large gaps are on the inside nearest walls to left and right(pillar)
The small gaps are on above the door (roof) and deep right wall
My bedroom window in relation to porch below

Arghhhhhh! They're everywhere!

If I can provide any further info or pics to help you to help me, just ask. I only have my mobile cam at hand so you'll have to excuse the clarity of some pics.

for the big gaps i would use mortar, about 8 to 1 sand and cement.
make sure you push it in a good few inches.
for the small ones id use silicon sealer with a gun. much easier than exterior pollyfilla.Get some gorm.0
