history of symmetry...please can someone help!?!?!

Please can someone help me...

I am doing primary education, and my specialist subject is maths. I have to do presentation, and decided to study the topic symmetry (reflection, rotation, and translation), I need to include a brief history on the topic, I have books and researched for hours on end and seem to be getting no where...please please please can someone point me in the right direction before I pull all my hair out.

Thanks

Third hit when you search "History of symmetry" on google. I hope my future kids don't get taught by someone who can't type three words into google.

i don't know how to define the history of symmetry......it's a tough thing to do - i can only suggest that someone like Euclid would be the place to start - i can't see anything about symmetry specifically in the contents of The Elements - i guess it's more about geometry and things like that.............

maybe a play on wikipedia looking at people like Pythagoras or Achimedes or other ancient greek philosphers who looked at things with a mathematical approach would help?
