Can you get short term lettings?

Most agents insist on 6 months minimum in Scotland
I wondered whether there were agents who did short term lettings for 1, 2, 3 month terms?
I don't mean holiday cottages either - they are very expensive.

You can get short term lets but they tend to be expensive in my experience.0

Agents don't generate enough commission to make it worth their while. try websites like gumtree.com.
Expect to pay more per month than if you were taking a 6 or 12 month tenancy.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. You're more likely to find such a short term let in local newspapers in the classified ads etc, people who are renting properties out themselves and not through an agent. And like people said above, they tend to be more expensive...0

I visited a very large property last week, where the landlord was getting set up specifically for the short term let market. He reckons there is massive demand for it here.
A lot of contractors come to cities to do jobs lasting, say, two months. They don't want to stay in a hotel or B&B, nor do they wany a six month tenancy.
I think there will be more and more of these types of properties springing up in future.0 -

I want to relocate and not stay in B&B and look for a place to buy. I don't want to commit to a 6 month lease either.
Where is this place?
Funnily enough our place that is on the market has 4 e/s bedrooms and ideal for that type of letting. It was an ex B&B.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

Well I work in Cardiff and it was on one of the main routes in/out of the city, about a mile from the centre. So it's very handy for people with short term work contracts in the city centre. Jump on a bus and you're in work within ten minutes. It also happens to be on a road which is well known for basic smallish hotels.
The owner intends to let it to a maximum of around thirteen people. He asked me for advice on what would be required in terms of HMO licensing. Number of bathrooms, kitchen facilities, fireproofing, etc. It's empty right now but is being renovated and will probably open in a few months. He's had a stack of enquiries already.0
