Opinions on countrywide

Options
Hi all,

I've heard the horror stories about the conveyancing branch of this company, but what are their surveying department like?

We have a mortgage agreed with First Direct, we've confirmed that we are not tied to using countrywide for their conveyancing services but their valuation will be done by countrywide. We are going to upgrade it to a full structural survey to be sure. Just a bit worried about their reputation!

Has anybody had any experience of this arm of their service?

Regards.. Karl

Not the same as conveyancing where it is possible for the job to be handled by all sorts of people who may or may not be qualified and experienced.

A survey has to be carried out by a qualified surveyor.

As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.

    Hi Karl
I got a mortgage with first direct last year and had a survey done with Countrywide. No problem at all. He did his survey in a couple of days and emailed me the report within 48 hours and was quite happy for me to ring him to discus things informally.
