does anyone know about the payment history of credit cards on your crdit report, i recenlty closed down a credit card account and have noticed that the card and its history are no longer showng on the report, i thought they stayed on there for 6 years? do companioes searching credit history see the same thing?????

they are ment to show on your report for 6 years after closing the account?

yes, definately, but a couple of days after it was cancelled the card and its chequered history had been deleted?!0

Hi, it looks like someone has deleted it by mistake, can happen, if it was quite a chequered history I wouldnt say anything and forget about it, the only thing is depending on the age of that account, it could lower the average age of your credit history which may affect your score slightly.
ie if your credit card was 10 years old and all your other accounts were say 1-2 years old then it would make your crdit history much shorter and longer is usually better.
But then again if you had lots of late / missed payments i think it would be better off your report.Dmp Mutual Support thread member No 820 -
i am thinking about going for a mortgage , i have a decent score and now that the late payments have gone from my report do we all think I am less likely to get any trouble from the grumpy lenders?!?0
