halifax lost online application

Hi all, I applied to switch my banking to a halifax reward current account 0n 2/7 then waited for contact to say it was being processed, this didn`t happened so on 5/7 I called them to express my concern that my details may have got in to the wrong hands, they searched they`re sytem but could find no record and said the application may come through to them on the next day. So I called again on 6/7 to be told that they had no record of the application, I then questioned to where my application had gone to be told it hasn`t gone anywhere and that i could apply again online or over the phone, to which i refused. Not once during my contact with halifax show any concern to my lost application or where it my have ended up. Is this normal with halifax? I have also since lodged a complaint to which i`ve had no response.

Halifax never seem to find online applications, but they do (sometimes) turn up and you get a debit card through the post. I got mine the day after they said they couldn't see any application nor account in my name and told me to re-apply. Glad I didn't otherwise I'd probably have two accounts now, and Halifax seem to make 2 credit references per account.
