Try using weather proof tape:

You should be able to buy it in most DIY stores.0 -
You were right in your 1st post, you need a tarp, forget polythene in any guage, it biodegrades so quickly that it will leak before you fix the roof.
Don't staple into the plastic, the rust stains will be difficult/impossible to removeI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
I was told that tarps aren't quite waterproof and will let some water through?0

The waterproof tape has saved my bacon a couple of times, even on damp surfaces.0

Pete I just reread your earlier post and didn't realise the roof was pretty much flat.
Revised view, still use a tarp, but underlay with a lighter gauge poly sheet 500g should do. I bought a tarp of 5 x 3 mtrs earlier this year as a temp canopy for a project, less than a tenner from ebay.
If the is going to take a while to get round to fixing permanently I would be inclined to fix battens over the covering with S/S screws, tape or tie downs wont likely see the weather out.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

For a tarp supplier I can recommend bradshaws from York http://www.tarpaulinsdirect.co.uk/TarpaulinsSite/pages/home/default.asp
We have used a few of their tarps, they are extremely good quality and waterproof. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
