Primus Sucks!

I called Primus back in Feb 2012 to switch just line rental which they said they would but they also switched calls without permission. I had my calls with Sky where I had anytime landline and international calls to 20 countries free. So I continued make such calls and over a period of 2.5 months I was charged close to £400! When I complained they cancelled my contract with penalties and apologised that it was a new trainee who had given me erroneous info! (in short that amounts to contract by misrepresentation, close to fraud). When I complained some more they waived the penalties. But they are still not ready to refund me for the incorrect charges for calls. They are members of the telecommunications Ombudsman so I have now lodge a complaint with them and await the result. But in short I have found that Primus is rather unfair and will keep you waiting and doesn't care about refunding you not because they can't afford it but because they probably hope I will go away fed up - but they are mistaken!!

What made you think you could move your line rental to Primus get cheaper line rental, yet leave your calls with Sky to to get cheaper/inclusive calls.0

That is what the customer service agent told me I could do! I asked her to recheck and recon firm - she put me on hold and came back and said I could do that.0 -

She probably meant that you could use an override provider like 18185.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

No I asked specifically can I keep my calls with my existing provider and just move the line rental. I have done this before long back when telephone companies didn't club line rental and calls and so I was making doubly sure I could still it. That's why my frustration about this. You think you make an informed decision before entering into a contract and it just turns out to be a scam and it is not right that companies think they can do this and get away with it!0 -
On a separate note I am a member of the Which? legal and when I explained the case to them they agreed that it was a contract through misrepresentation. I asked Primus for a recording of my calls with them and they haven't provided this to me. They agree that I was given false information and it was a mistake on their part and yet they won't refund me the money!0
