sorry for 3rd post in a row, trying to post with one of the cats all over me/his lordship's keyboard!
Had a brill time today doing a little stint of fundraising. Probably not allowed to plug/mention a particular charity (I'm assuming). If interested google seagreen and todays date. Dropped kids off at school, travelled from local station in Essex to central London (Holborn tube), did 2.5 hours holding a bucket and asking for donations and then the journey in reverse. Just about made it back to school in time (had my 2 wonderful local mum friends on standby)by the skin of my teeth, lost the sensation in my fingertips as was standing in the wind, missed my lunch (and that's rare I can tell you!) but don't care one tiny bit - loads of coins in the collection bucket, got out of my comfort zone big time and am on a fantastic high! :j
hugs to all, you wonderful toughies, thanks for keeping me on the OS straight and narrow...
right no tea even thought about, naughty mummy, think a quick one for kids involving fried eggs maybe and beans and sauages. no sure what DH & I will have later.
try and pop back this eve if his lordship allows (still no blasted laptop, discovered its the charger not the battery so had to order a new one of those now)

Thank you SQ perhaps I have turned the corner? I hope so...it has been difficult lately as a news story broke and it makes me think Mum was allowed to die and perhaps the care plan was not as I was told...so many other people's experiences are similar and that has got me down a bit as I felt I had let Mum down...and I don't like what I have read/heard on the radio...
Hopefully there will be more good days than bad...but the support on here does help..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Sadly, as you say Danetastic you always expect problem three to happen...hope things soon are better for you...sorry that you have a funeral to attend for a dear friend. I miss not having friends or family so feel lonely occasionally but the upside is I suppose no funerals to attend."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Still had nothing to eat(well I say that)but I have had all the calories I am supposed to since Midnight...including salad sandwiches(with spring onions, lettuce, cheese, marmite, cooked ham, tomatoes)wholemeal bread. Toast and marmalade. Coffee. So if I don't have anything else I won't come to any harm...
I could always do a quick meal later as I have some sausages defrosting in the fridge and I could do an egg;)I managed to squeeze my yellow stickered items into the freezer(Just)nothing else will fit in...and at the time I purchased them I did not think some could be frozen or there would be enough room..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. slightly frenetic atmosphere here today. DH had an interview today, and has another tomorrow and a further second interview on Wednesday. He worked non-stop all weekend to prepare for them and he's brain-dead now having got back from the first. But an agent has just rung about an interview for a 3 month interim role he had a couple of weeks ago. She thinks they are going to offer and wants to accept on his behalf but he was cagey because of these other interviews. However if they don't hear straight away they will give it to someone else. It's never easy is it?! Obviously 3 months is much better than nothing, but with 3 interviews this week he has the chance of a permanent role. Difficult to know what to do.0

edit to add, if anyone wants a perfect tenant, apart from some hoarding which I am addressing, I am perfect!

That is so difficult Possesion. It is nice that he is wanted but in another way it causes worry and stress...hoping that any decision is the right one."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Possession, is it possible the 3 month offer could lead to more? I know a friend applied for a job which had a contract of 6 months and is there and promoted, 2 years later!
Good luck however!
I'm just in a state of panic trying to sort out registration for HMRC. I have no idea what I'm doing, how do others cope with the web site?! Need to call them tomorrow now, as I think I've registered twice and still don't know when I need to submit a return!0 -

Yes they have said it could lead to a permanent role, but it's a very small company.
HMRC, once you finally get through to them, are actually very helpful on the phone.0
