So much stress for so many here, dont know where to start, think it will be easier to send a huge all encompassing hug. Im so sorry for all the problems you are having, feel like hiding under the duvet myself just in case. Instead am off to light a candle for some peace for you all xxxx
Jayney welcome, glad you found things on the thread that can help you. You chat away to us theres no limit on the length of posts.:)
Just had a phone call - should have run upstairs and got under the covers - they are coming to insulate the loft in a month - I got a months grace as I now have to empty the loft of all the wonders that have accumulated there in 30 years. Wish me luck guys, really didnt need this
Cor , I dont envy you up in the loft with 30 yr of crap to get down........
When I lived ina 3 bed house and had the boys small, I always put stuff up "there", when I come to move , I had more up "there", than what I had down stairs......
We done loads of dump trips, plus had a huge bonfire in the garden, why do we keep so much rubbish ..?.
I said when I moved I would never ever do that again, and I havent, apart from the xmas decos theres nothing up "there"........
Be prepared to waste the whole day sorting through it......:mad:You maybe lucky enough to find something worth selling on ebay, you never whats up "there" after 30 year.....Good luck on the clear out....
Wet today, not too cold just dam damp and miserable, so im going to light my fire to cheer me and the house up.....sheila0 -

oh nor me, we had to clear the loft when we `downsized` and oh what a job. We lived on ibrufen, it was a killing job just lugging and shifting and finding homes for decent stuff. We ended up skipping too much  as we ran out of time
I have just treated myself to a small beko freezer for the garage, it is guaranteed down to -15 so will be fine. I just cannot get anything else into the freezer in the house. Anyway I am hoping for lots of soft fruits to freeze next year and I am going to store a few bits for christmas dinner plus soups and the like, that I want to make in bulk
I HATE throwing food away but I baked some scones with AF scone mix and they were rancid, so the whole bag of mix has gone in the bin. It has put me off buying the ready mixes with oil in them. Use by date was months ago but I didn`t take it in when I ordered
We went on a trip yesterday and our eyes were opened to the large number of fields waiting to be ploughed and drilled with winter wheat. Farmer friend says that he has farmer colleagues who are suicidal. Many have large loans and high rents and are going under
pooky, yes stretching is good, even better than being fit. Many moons ago, we bought an inverter from qvc and it is a godsend if the back gets sore or we get sciatica. I just tuck my feet it and go backwards and I can feel myself getting longer and my hands start to touch the floor0 -
The cheapest potatoes (white) here are now 75 cents a kilo...I refuse to pay it, I would rather manage without... I am having more veggies instead and feel better for it.
Kittie I have a fridge freezer from Beko and I was so pleased with it I bought a small chest freezer as well. Beko are a good brand and here they come with a three year guarantee. They are good on the electric usage as well. I did find that when we had a fourteen hour power cut most of the stuff stayed frozen...all that melted was the ice cream so we had it instead of custard on an apple crumble ...it was wonderful!
Just about to go out to the closing night by the hotel swimming pool...have on warm trousers from last winter and a very fetching long purple silk shirt that I bought for one euro last year at the Chinese shop sale.....its lovely and warm and looks dressy. I have a necklace on that I was given at the car boot sale and a pair of purple suede shoes that I swapped with my friend when her shoes were killing her in London when she was shopping with me. Definitely an OS outfit tonight! My husband just asked if I had bought a new outfit...just wait till I tell him the truth.....“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin.” Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC):A0 -
oh Fuddle, not a nice situation to be in, I would be very careful if someone else did know / get to know about this and mentioned it. If you knew there may be / is a problem and it results in an issue / accident with the children then you may be frowned upon for not mentioning it. Sure you have a duty of care to the children and your employer to ensure standards are maintained. Is there any guidance that says she should be in the room or that food should not be consumed whilst attending? Although I can understand your reticence to approach this, you could perhaps make a jokey comment about wanting to swap "shifts" as then you can eat lunch sitting down too in front of someone senior and the culprit. Might just get the message across and you can always keep it fun / light spirited and feign innocence if someone makes a funny comment about it. Best of luck
Oh for the end of today please .... dark as anything out there and raining, not good to drive home in.Start info Dec11

I hate throwing food away too, but DS has come home from school having baked "sausage pasta pot" which we were going to have for tea and it is MINGING. I took the lid off and literally heaved. I don't think it's his cooking - more the recipe. Luckily I had bought a curry deal in Mr T's to have on Sunday, but we can have it tonight.
In a second I am going to whizz round this kitchen so fast, you won't see me for dust (literally!)
I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

I got spuds from Mr A and they were rubbish, collapsed very quickly, luckily was only doing shepherds pie.
the LL has given us a month extra to clear the loft and no I don't envy me eitherThink I will find an awful lot of carp up there
Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Thanks GINNY - seriously though, we both hope your sciatica gets better very quickly, i've suffered with it in the past and boy, does it hurt!!! It's something you can do without any day but specially loft clearing, lets hope you see the back of it very soon, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Ginny - if at all possible I would recommend not trying to do it all in one day, its just too much.
Glad you are feeling a little better
Kittie we have had a little beko freezer for 18 yrs and its been great, its moved house 5 times and outlasted four fridge freezers
Fuddle - I wonder if you could maybe mention it in passing to someone rather than make it a complaint, maybe something like ooh I was wondering if I should have my lunch when X has hers during second sitting - will that make it easier ? So it seems like you arent reporting her?0 -

:rotfl:oh bless him, I couldn't help laugh as DS3 brought me home fish pie a couple of weeks ago and it was much the same!! I cannot do warm tuna..any other fish is fine but this makes me heave and I had to sit and eat every last morsel under his watchful gaze*His lasagne last week however was to die for * thankfully
