Morning!
Just dipping in to say to Fairy - cook the puds for longer, should help with the collapsing thing!
Same old Same old here, nothing else to add
(((hugs))) to Pooky and others with sadness around them.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Morning all, FPK, you could try asking on Freecycle for spare paint, we re-homed some (about 25) little tester pots which were the accumulated property of us and both DDs and gave them to a lady who wanted to do some craft projects. You could explain that you would like bright if possible, most folks have the end of tins laying around in the shed/garage and would be glad to see someone get the use from them. That would only cost you the fuel/fare to collect them from the donor. Hope that helps Cheers Lyn x.0

Morning toughies
ridiculously busy here ATM and have hospital this afternoon so no chance of catching up just yet hope everyone is well, its turned really nippy here so starting to declutter and rearrange for the winter now brr
Have a great day will be back on as soon as things settle down a bit XX0 -
AW, thinks Mrs. Chip and Mrs. Lurchwalker. I'll both of those things to the list. We do have a few ends of pots. I've got one pink, one blue and one gray, but the rest is quite drab. I've also got some craft acrylics, should really just use what I've got.
And as for baking them longer, I will try that. I always take them out long before the recipe says because they look done, but I suppose they're like cakes then, they look done on the outside before the inside is done and they collapse if you pull them out before their time. I'll try them again soon as its the season for stews and they're such a good way to compliment a stew, and with the eggs they add protein which we could always do with supplementing around here.
Should get to work now. Have a quick trip to London for a conference tomorrow. Although it meant I had to give up an interview I'm feeling positive about it today and am excited as I'll go and visit a few museums when I've got some time off. It will make for a long day, but will get me away from the mess at work for a day.0 -

Has it been shuffled away on purpose? Am I being a tad paranoid?
A xo
That's the link I tried to post in the early hours. Simple copy and past job so why it didn't work I don't know.
A day of kids' bedroom cleaning and sorting ahead so I shall be quiet today :eek:0 -
Morning all, the rain has hit here too! I'm sure the garden will be very pleased of it.
DD1s first day at college yesterday, she was so nervous but came home happy, she made friends (she always does) and a group of them all went out for lunch together in the city centre. Another hurdle jumped!
Have two funerals next week, mon and tues, so need to have a serious wardrobe rummage and find something suitable to wear, cropped jeans and a vest aren't really going to cut it are they? I refuse to buy anything new. My main funeral outfit is a bit wintery for this time of year and probably a bit to snug.
Did some major bulk cooking yesterday afternoon and now have zero freezer space. I made some chicken stock too but have decided to use it in tonight risotto so I don't have to try and do the freezer jigsaw again.
oh i am so jealous of your DD - pleased too of course. i am sat in costa having left mine looking the picture of doom with her head of house after virtually having to drag her thro the door of school. i feel like i did when she was left at nursery and sidnt expect to be doing it when she was 16.
it will be fine, i am sure but its gonna take time.
didnt have time to get anythong out for tea so its jacket spuds for us.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

and my biting back a few swear words at people who think it's acceptable to put an s book in with the d books.
ah, well, I'm the one that goes into charity shops and starts to group the books by author... and I nearly redisplayed all the Twilight books in a shop on Saturday:o:rotfl:‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Feel like I'm losing the battle with gas and electric. My account keeps readjusting itself. It warns me I'm not paying enough every month so then I up it my a couple of £'s to make sure I don't end up owing at the end of my term. I've just entered my readings (elec is £10 less this month - must be the halogen! gas is £5 less so even in the summer it's worth watching and cutting back) but now the account is saying I need to update it again even though I've used less this month than forecasted. Spitting feathers I am. Well I'm not upping it any more... I'm just going to have to have even smaller puddle's for baths, definitely not put the heating on during the day in winter and use far less than they suggest. It's the arrears that is doing it. If only I had been as frugal as I should have been in previous years I wouldn't owe. Got the gas arrears down to £180 and the electric arrears down to £80.
Bit by bit eh? I just hope the prices don't go up too much in the coming months - or DH has a decent win on the fishing!
Off to look for strawberries and cheer myself up. Knowledge is power at the end of the day - at least I'm kind of in control of it. :cool:0 -
VJsmum- sorry if you have already said, I am struggling to keep up (and the pills are making me forget allsorts) but did you not manage to get your DD college moved, I know you were trying last week, its awful when its that much of an ordeal. I do know that loads from my DD year last year swapped colleges right upto half term. Its actually also very surprising how many of the year group have swapped colleges and started again this year.
I spent loads of time on Sunday cleaning out a cupboard to provide space to store sacks of dog food, rabbit food and cat litter. I also managed to clear two large shelves too which can be used for my cereal stock and other bits too. I should now be re-arranging the store cupboard and moving stuff across but have just not got the energy. I have done the shopping and am sitting having a quick bacon sandwich and will be asleep in ten minutes I am sure.
The shopping was painful, didnt buy that much at all and the price was twice what I expected, now as DD said I am a little out of it so a bit of miscalculation is to be expected but double. The prices are just flying up.0
