Eeeek! Scary stuff right now. It's very, very scarily dark... and the rain stinks! Seriously the rain here smells of manure. Pops, stick your head out the door and see if the rain smells. Very ominous and we've lost our sky signal.

Where we live the rain smelt of pee:eek::eek::eek:
My youngest son came down and asked me if his older brother had been peeing out of the window again (he very occasionally does this in a very deep sleep - like sleep walking). Cue much sniffing around the vicinity (in a very wobbly manner). Only to realise it was as strong at the front and was down to the rain:eek:

Fuddle - definitely clotted cream with scones and make sure you dont roll the dough out too much.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Zaflora...a kind of disinfectant that is usually diluted but has quite a scented smell...I would think that the smell will eventually disappear and it will be safe to use...a small amount goes a long way...

    Zoflora whiff dissipates quite quickly.

What is it with boys rooms, eh?

I used Zoflora on a cloth to wipe down surfaces, its lovely but yes it doesn't last long. Welcome back GQ.
Am just watching a handful of schoolkids who came down the farm road for the school bus, the bus pulled away before they got down the hill and they are running along the main road  trying to catch it in the village. That's the A7, a main road, very narrow and twisty here, loads of fatalities every year, and with a bad bend right where they are
The schools went back yesterday and today here.

    Morning all

Nice to have you back, GQ - but police? Tea terraces? *mystified smiley*

Had a good (and fairly cheap) day out yesterday - kids' activity (free) at local farm, then trip to ice cream parlour for lunch (bought a sandwich for kids but no ice cream!) followed by actual buying of ice cream cones at the best place in town, rushing back through rain to eat at our house! :D

Tonight I'll have to start going through our finances again, we need to cut back quite a bit - probably involve looking to change energy suppliers (gas just gone up to £74 a month, even though we're in credit  leccy is £57!), pare down food bill (has crept up a fair bit since the spring, so eminently do-able), etc.

mar - hope none of those kids meets their maker today! We get some real morons parking and driving so dangerously near our village schools, despite yellow lines, staff on the prowl, even a policeman on one occasion!

    A xo

;) The Tea Terraces where the famous Yorkshire Tea is grown? I'd reasoned with global tea prices at record-breaking levels, it would be prudent, whilst in Yorkshire, to do some farm-gate purchasing, as it were.

:o:o:o I think someone might have been pulling my leg about Yorkshire Tea..........probably me.:o:o:o

There were Police involved, but nothing too exciting. We broke down on a A road and they stopped to help. An unmarked car within seconds..........they're following me around, I tell you.

The recovery firm via the insurer dragged us off the highway and back to a garage where the car had a new thingummy and it was right as rain thereafter. My credit card was a bit battered but I can cover it.

My Dad was killing himself laughing as something of a misadventure always happens when I go on holiday......he kept asking if I'd gone to Filey? This is a bit of a family joke as I haven't been back there since 1975 when I incurred an injury which left a 2 inch scar on my leg...........holidays are dangerous, I tell you, dangerous.

:D I liked Yorkshire a lot; beautiful scenery and lovely people. Even the traffic police were lovely. And the garage fed us tea and biscuits and the sun shone all the time apart from the couple of hours when it rained..........

Pls excuse gibberish, got home just before 11 pm last night and have to go to work today...........gawd help me.

ETA have now read as far as P. 170 and have to go to w*rk. Type slowly.......I'll be days catching up at this rate. ;p

Well Fuddle...if you are thinking a head they also have some nifty clothes for wearing when you bike...they are waterproof but breathable to stop sweating, nice styles and nice colours. I suspect the tops could be worn even if you don't have bike...I may get one myself...I lose out adding the taxi fare but...
