And if there is less coming into a house income wise and we are having to try and be more frugal/thrifty, that's less money to spend so less money for companies to make a profit and therefore I assume the economy will be even worse and more will be losing their jobs or chasing after the few that exist and again most wil be paying rubbish wages.

I'm starting to wish I'd had not been far behind Mum...she's in a better place or not having to worry as we are having to.

    I've lost my appetite again...

We´ve been making our paper bricks for years now. They burn really slowly and generate a lot of ash but also quite a lot of heat. I usually run the newspapers through the shredder and then into big tubs and add the waste water from the washing machine. Add a drop of bleach which helps to break everything down and leave in the sun and sometimes OH gives the "mush" a whizz with a whisk thing attached to his drill, press out and leave to dry in the sun till rock hard. You can´t use them to start a fire but once you have a good base fire going then one or two with a liitle wood will usually see us thru the evening and still be warm in the morning. Last year I added pine cones to the "mush" and the smell was lovely.
Fuddle and Mrs C.....the bread was lovely....but as I am trying to low carb it is going to have to be a week end treat!
Had a lovely day today as it was my friends birthday. Went to the beach and OH and amiga had a swim whilst her OH and I watched them whilst putting the world to rights. Lunch was lovely.....we don´t often eat out these days but it was €10 pp and for that I had calamari with salad, bacalou pin pin with accompaniements and ended with caramel cake and ice cream (which OH ate as I dont like sweet things ) , coffee and wine included. Bargain for approx 8 pounds.....Sheesh, this spanish keyboard has no pound sign,,never noticed that before!!!

    Hugs to all,

Aw Pops, hugs. It's bl**dy awful, isn't it?

Anyway, in an attempt to bring a smile to people's faces, I have copied this from my facebook page. It's a salute to all stay-at-home mums (and dads).

A man came home from work and found his 5 children outside, still in their pyjamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn around garden, The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and no sign of the dog. Walking in the door, he found ...an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, the throw rug was against one wall, In the front room the TV was on loudly with the cartoon channel, the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door. He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pyjamas, reading a novel... She looked up at him, smiled and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?' She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world do I do all day?...
    ''Yes," was his incredulous reply..
She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it.’

I´m so sorry.... I have been writing a post all evening whilst doing other things and just posted it only to realise that peeps on here have so many, much graver issues. Please don´t get me wrong..I have gleaned so much from the tougher threads but when peeps on here have so many worries I feel a little shallow. Yes I am having to watch every € but didn´t genuinely mean to brag about my afternoon out
