Well no second coats here (paint) as its pouring:mad:

Decided maybe if cleaned up the ESP off me I might feel better, so had a bath and used some of that expensive stuff - the bodyscrub to take it off, I doubt most woman who buy it used it to remove liquid sandpaper from their body:rotfl:

Realised while in bath hair had not been washed for nearly two weeks:eek: thanks to pain flare, so its been scrubbed as well, but it still looked and smelt ok, not greasy or dry.

So now changed bedding, which I had planned to do but had hoped to hang it out, oh well weathermen got it half right, and now sitting all clean in bed and going to have a doze.

Dinner is all ready, had half of a brisket joint I cooked a few weeks ago and froze so threw it in one sc earlier with bits and bobs and threw rice in other sc and its done so thrown it in with the brisket and left on low so hubs can serve himself if I stay snoozing but going to set alarm for 90mins but friend is popping by to pick up her kindle which I had to sort for her so she might wake me sooner. I don't want to sleep till night then be up all night again.

Hope there will be photos of new doggie member.

Electric whisk on it's last legs. I thought the bottom one as more unlikely to break but maybe the top one would be easier?

I got the top one from there a few weeks back and it's useless, it keeps jamming, it went in the bin and I went back to my balloon one.

They do a value electric whisk in there for around a fiver, I've got one of those too and it does the job.

I'd go for the balloon one too - slightly harder work but slightly better workout, LOL!
When I was at my parents I used their electric whisk and realised it was the same one they bought when I was a child so must be at least 36 years old and still going strong!

So pleased I asked, thanks Pooky and possession :)

My breville electric whisk is just over 3 years old and is faultering. I was praying it got me through DH's birthday cake before. It did but not got much time left with it.

    Afternoon Everyone :)

katieowl I am so glad that they are getting their money back, but how upsetting it must be for them. Here's hoping the next house is perfect. Good luck collecting your grand-doggie :)

kidcat How on earth have they come up with 6 different figures??? The mind boggles. I hope you have a good rest and feel better x

I have an upset and exhausted DH today. He spent hours talking to a friend yesterday and didn't sleep last night. I posted about her DH who is 42 and has cancer a few months ago and it seems like life has been throwing everything it can at them since. The Drs have said that they can't treat his cancer and all they can do is give him as much time as possible. He is 42 for goodness sake, it's so f*cking unfair. Their 6 year old daughter is asking to go to different churches whenever anyone asks what she wants to do, so she can pray for her Daddy. It's times like this that I wish I had faith in something, but I can't fake it and pray no matter how good the cause.

We made it to Lidl this morning so I have 8 packs of steak to deal with over the weekend. I also got 2 packs of stir fry chicken pieces and some lamb chops at 30% off. I'm cooking the chops for lunch and will turn the chicken into curry and in white wine sauce for the freezer.
I've also gone and had a bounce on the bouncy castle that was hired for my friend's daughter's birthdays...much to the amusement of everyone watching. I've baked 12 choc cupcakes and a vanilla tray bake with nutella swirled into it and topped with leftover choc sauce from last week, marshmallows and grated white choc. I'll pop those around later and have another bounce with ventolin to hand.

I'd better go and see if the veg is done and cook the chops. I'm hoping DH has gone for a nap, but he will wake up if food is involved.

    Take care xxxxx
  • I used to have one of the top whisks, it went rusty - not through lack of use, but difficult to dry. It's funny they cost the same, you would think the whirly whisk having more parts would be dearer.

I've got a Tesco Value electric whisk, I think it cost about £4 when I bought it about 18 months ago. It gets quite a lot of use and has been fine.
SDG so sorry about your friend. : (
That's about my age and I can imagine my 7 yr old DD doing exactly the same. : (

Hi all! Been reading the thread as usual but fancied posting for a change!

i'd go for the balloon one as well. I rub one between my palms to whisk egg whites, cream etc and it's probably quicker than me fishing out my electric whisk, plugging it in, trying to get it apart to clean etc.
sdg31000 that is just awful for your friend dh and family.

Some developer client of my uncle got wind of my Nan's death and asked to see the house. He offered them £10,000 (13%) less than any house on the road has ever sold for, even though it's one of the biggest, and was so bloody insensitive. It has the most gorgeous mature garden with fruit and nut trees, veg patches, greenhouse, shed etc and he simply said "i'll flatten it". It's hard to turn down a cash offer when money is tight and this bloke knows it, it's his "job" but it just feels horrible. Times are tough and people are ruthless.
