    Poor Andy Murray. :(
Well not poor since he's just pocketed half a million quid but you know what I mean. He played his little heart out.

Yes, shame about Murray, but he did well...:T

The news said it was 3 months rain in 24 hours! Don't mean to go on, but

Hiya Bobbykins, please post more, I just talk about the weather!:D

PAH, cheques take 5 working days to clear if not the same bank. However, if with Ba£clays they allow you to withdraw/pay bills even though the chq hasn't officially cleared (Thank God!), and if it bounces then they scream! Make sure you get the money from son, preferably in cash...he needs to learn, and it's never too late to do that.

Well I always go on and say we dont get much rain here, but for an half hour at lunch time the heavens opened up, we had hailstorm, thunder, lightning, the garage ended up with 4 inches water in it, we dont use it for the car its full up with everything else, when I opened the door after the storm I shut it quick , I couldnt deal with clearing everything out of there today.........

I will probaly make a start in the morning, reckon its a total day job, and I will be making a trip to the dump with the trailer in tow, all the dam carpets and mats are heavy and full of water......
Never mind its only the garage, alot poor people have their homes flooded thats so sad for people to lose so much.............This afternoon we have blue skies again and sunshine, you cant make it up can you......?. Also our local supermarket flooded, so thats not good at all..........

Ive started getting some fuel supplies in for the winter, ive got 6 large bags of coal and quite a bit of wood, so thats a good start, plus I pay DD for elec and gas and im well in credit , so at least I wont go cold in the winter, god knows what weather we will get, anybodies guess I guess...........I dont bother with hanging anything extra up the windows cos ive got DG and no draughts so no point putting extras up....................
Just seen the "countryfile" weather for the week ahead and guess what , yea loads of rain all week again in most areas.........

Byatt I never understand rainfall. It bounces down for half an hour and then weather says something like 1mm  Surely it takes more than 1mm to get my hair in that state

I have to share with you that DH has put the curtain pole up at at the dining room patio window. 3 years I tell you, 3 years it's all been sat in the cupboard waiting. Well my wait is over and I'm thrilled. The curtains I have up there are Next lined and are 7 year old. I say lined, they are not very thick at all and I dare not tell you what I paid for them years ago. :o I'm a bit sad as they were my living room curtains from my house, the house that I lost, but I'm trying to not think like that.

On the patio door the seal doesn't meet properly and I can see daylight down the bottom half of the door. I use that door to get my stuff out of the garage freezer so would like to avoid cellotaping it up (I have done this previously though, and will do it again if push comes to shove) Any ideas? Something that will do the job re: draughts but still allow me to open the door. I'm stumped.

I don't know how much a mm is...:o I'm old school, feet and inches :rotfl:

Enjoy your curtains and well done on using them. I got rid of everything when ex went, which was rather stupid, but seemed logical at the time. Had some lovely stuff, but couldn't move on from what they represented, so well done. :T

anyone building up their storecupboards or making jams etc Tesco have 5kg of sugar on at £3.99 just now, saves a wee bit compared to the 98p for a single kilo.

Would have dropped a wee sweetie off to you Mardatha if I had known you were short as we were in your neck of the woods for our holidays - not sure if you would have liked edinburgh rock though!

Poundstretcher had sugar last week at 2 for £1.50 as well, maybe sugar is going to get cheaper again now? :)
