DS2 & I are waiting for a bus into town as there's a brass concert in the park this afternoon. I must get organised & find out what's on in advance as it started at 2.30 - on till 5, which may be enough for new anyway!

We went to a car boot with mummy & daddy this morning. DS2 spent all his money on footie cards to leave lying round the place till they go into the recycling bin :-(, I.got 5 pairs of school trousers for him &3 pairs of pjs, a door curtain & some books & some fruit. DS1 got a set of motorbike leathers for £11!

Washing on the line in. the care of ds1...

It's gorgeous here today. Popped to a local country park for a couple of hours to get some fresh air, was lovely.

Had to get some petrol en route and stopped at our local station which is a stones throw from the beach, one of the local pub owners was in there trying to change some notes, he said business has been so slow lately that he just didn't keep a decent float of change in but today had taken him by surprise and the place was heaving (it is right on the waters edge so ideal for sunny weather). He said he hopes for a few more sunny weekends or this will be his last summer as he just can't afford to keep the place open. You forget just how the seasonal trades are affected by the weather. So here to more sunshine!

In other news there's a bit of brisket in the SC that was YS from £12 down to £4 (and I had a £2.20 voucher to use). It smells divine, it's in with parsnips, celery, onions and carrots, half a bottle of red and a few random herbs. I shall be slicing it up nice and thin when it's cold and using it for salads and sarnies during the week.

PIC- fantastic bargains! I am very envious of your haul

    Evie xx

To make you feel better I go to jumbles most weeks and although I always buy some bits and bobs I rarely get a haul like yesterday. Yesterday the good luck fairy was strutting her thing :D

I can never be bothered to go dog training on a Sunday morning but when I get there I always have a good larf. We always play which dog would we have next out of all the different breeds there and today was the Old English Sheepdog (dulux dog) however it put me off slightly when they told me how much grooming they need :D

Just helped DS mow next doors lawn which was a mile high and now I am truly pooped so having five minutes then will have to sort some stuff on for feebay.

For those with bad weather I don't mind sharing as I don't want to be greedy.

Tomorrow is the 6 MONTHS WITHOUT A FAG day and I still don't know how to celebrate, not with food as I have done that everyday since stopping :o so suggestions are most welcome

Think it's quite windy still but the clouds have rolled by and the sun has shown itself. So it arrived eventually. For some weeks if we have manage any it seems to be in the early evenings not during the day.

Well done on giving up smoking, that's a decent milestone...is there something you'd like for yourself or the home? A concert coming with someone you'd like to see?

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I bought a glass glass cake stand with glass dome from A1di the other day for £15 and have felt bad about it since as it's not a necessary item and when I got it home its is a little on the wonky side (like me :D) I was going to take it back for a refund but I may just swap it for an un wonky one and have that as my six month treat.

Sat with my feet in a bowl of water to treat my feet and have some moisturiser someone gave me and as I can't use it on my face (sensitive soul that I am) the feet are going to get a pampering. It says extra firming do you think it will tighten my feet up ;)

Thank you to whoever it was that mentioned putting tinned carrots in the slow cooker. I've done that today and we've just polished off mince cobbler (cheese scones done in the oven though) 4 hours those Asda Value 14p carrots have been in the SC and although they were soft, they managed to hold their form. :)

That's good to know, DS2 loves carrots in his lunch box, so I can tinned for cooking &a few nice enough for his lunch. I like his packed lunch to look good (i know it will taste good & be good for him) as he does get comments from other children about the lack of crisps& chocolate - grr!

I forgot to tell you all - I got the big neapolitan swedish glace in MrS last week reduced to 75p, so made sure DS2 knew we'd be having ice cream at home, not at the park. He's in the play area right now - glad we only caught the 2nd half of the concert as he was getting restless towards the end of that. It was good though.
  • PIC - well done on your 6 months cigarette free - is there a book you have wanted to read for ages? That would be a big treat for me, and if it were one of a series, you could buy the next one at 1 year, then 18 months etc. and have a lasting reminder of how well you are doing. Hope your hounds are all well and keeping you fit!!!!! Cheers Lyn and Docky x.
