  • just popping in to share this recipe i got from pinterest, my notes in bold italics,
it was scrummy :) and would serve 6 adults having two parcels each

    Chicken Crescent Roll Casserole
2 (8 ounce) cans Reduced Fat Pillsbury Refrigerated Crescent Dinner Rolls (ready to bake croissants)
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can 98% fat free cream of chicken soup, undiluted
3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese or swiss cheese (or any cheese of choice)
    1/2 cup milk

    Filling
4 ounces cream cheese (very soft) * I used 1/3 less fat cream cheese*
2 tablespoons butter (very soft but not melted) – not needed imo
    1/2-1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 tsp minced onion flakes
2 large cooked chicken breasts, finely chopped (or use about 2 cups, can use cooked turkey)
1/2-3/4 cup finely grated cheddar cheese
    1/2 tsp seasoning salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper (or to taste)
    2 Tbsp. milk
1-2 cup grated cheddar cheese (for topping)
I added old bay seasoning which is American but you can get over here

Set oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13 dish with cooking spray. Mix together milk, 3/4 cup cheese and undiluted chicken soup (can season with black pepper if desired).

For the filling --- (make certain that the cream cheese and butter are very soft) in a bowl, mix the soft cream cheese with butter until very smooth, then add in garlic powder. Add in the chopped chicken, onion and cheddar cheese; mix well until combined. Add in 2 tablespoons milk; mix to combine (add in a little more if the mixture seems too dry). Season with seasoned salt or white and black pepper to taste. Unroll the crescent rolls. Place 1 heaping tablespoon chicken mixture (or a little more) on top of each crescent triangle, then roll up starting at the thicker end. Drizzle a small amount of soup mixture on the bottom of the dish. Then place the crescent rolls seam-side down on top of the creamed mixture in the casserole.
Drizzle the remaining sauce on top (you don't have to use the full amount of cream sauce, just use as much as desired) and sprinkle with 1 cup (or more) grated cheese, or amount desired. Bake for about 30 minutes.

I mixed up bread dough in the BM and then left it in the fridge for 24 hours. Will it still be ok to shove in the oven - well after I've heated it up a wee bit?

I have a feeling that it will be, after all people take pizza's out of fridges and freezers and also pastry can be made and put in the fridge if not totally used up...

    Just a thought...

To my poster this morning or was it yesterday said that I may be able to freeze the cooked chicken thighs...I can:Dand I can freeze my bacon too but the writing was that small(no snowflakes to make it easier to identify)that will save me rushing to eat everything up or throwing items out...

Nothing to say that I can freeze the mackerel though:( so I may have to use it up but I may still risk having some the following day if it's been kept in the fridge.

Nor about warming it but I think I will do that trick that was mentioned about 30 seconds in the micro and have some brown bread with it...

I'm listening to the light music on Desmond Carrington's show as I used to with Mum...it does make me feel so nostalgic and think of her so much but I must continue to listen...we used to share it so why should I stop now...and cut myself off from what we enjoyed. But I enjoy so many types of music...

Oh very excited at the thought of mcculloch and pops having seen each other. Mcculloach you're not too far from me then. I live about 7 miles from you, have the same MP, we have a bus route going through both our places and the town I live near begins with S. Can you guess? ;)

DH back home :) He has been giving a really good winter coat from a supplier's rep :D Chuffed to bits.

Pops you got an Aldi? My bus goes there. Is it easy to find?
