@lisakay: we had to put a bell on the Collie. He moves so quickly and quietly that I fell over him a couple of times when I turned sharply in the kitchen! I don't see him as much of a hunter though!0

feeling very frustrated with that programme that was mentioned earlier (hidden hungry). I got myself all upset, especially over the man who couldn't afford to give his son a birthday present. I found myself wondering how I would cope if I couldn't afford even a small present for either of my girls. (spoiler don't read on if your going to catch the progamme later)
when it turned out he was a conman I was furious!! why do some people think it's ok to do stuff like that??
Going to watch that programme soon and no you have not spoilt it. It is about time the media started to show more programmes of how the population is being or will be affected in these times of hardship, there should also be more showing how to stretch food budgets and even a bit of make and mend.
Of course they were right to show the conman but...the problem is they are few and far between and if not careful once again many will go away with the impression that there are more of them than there are and tar everyone with the same brush...
It has to be realised now that many who seek help from the state or charity are working...
The problem is that many such programmes are placed in the schedule at times they may be overlooked by many...around here most people are in bed and the lights out before 10.30pm or they are shown when many are out at work or looking for work such as 9am or put against a popular soap...it is ok for us as we can watch via internet but still many still watch via a TV...and these programmes are important even if worrying."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

FUDDLE - You are a famous person!! Carol Kirkwood on the BBC Weather said this morning that the weather was 'FUDDLED' today, what an accolade, I'll have to ask for an autograph!!!!! Hope all is well with you and yours and that you're just busy as we haven't heard from you for a couple of days.
GINNY thank you for thinking of us while we were so worried about our daughter, you and everyone else are very, very kind!
STILTWALKER - Wishing you and the family a very beautiful and oh so happy day on Friday, all of you in your best! Have a happy time, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Good morning everyone - I can't believe I'm the first one up!
Stiltwalker, I hope you have a fabulous day on Friday and you get the chance to pause and soak it all up.
I wish I could pass you some of my hours as I unexpectedly have a few to spare today. We were supposed to be having a surveyor out today to check about loft insulation so I've taken the day off, but late yesterday afternoon the company contacted us to say the surveyor has slipped a disc (ouch) and they can't send anyone out until Saturday. Never mind, I'm hoping to make the most of the day. I got up with OH, but have come back to bed armed with a pen and paper and am making lists! I am going to sort through the various boxes that we'd got out of the loft in anticipation of the surveyor, so I feel a trip to the charity shop coming up (just need to remember to take more stuff in than I bring out!) Then I'm going to try to get ahead with the prep for my mum's visit this weekend.
Have a good day everyone.

I wuz up, just not posting. Was having to put the final touches to my Halloween office outfit.
Pumpkin orange nylon is a difficult look to carry-off but I shall do my best. And my spider needed a little adjustment with a needle. Am cross to find that I don't have any googly-eyes in the sewing kit as they would have really made that tarantula ROCK but I'm darned if I'm buying haberdashery before work.
Have had porridge (to leave plenty of room for cake later) and am looking forward to seeing what the colleagues will be wearing. We're all (allegedly) adult but who cares?:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Stiltwalker - I hope your day goes wonderfully well and that you are able to have a chance to enjoy it.
Have woken up still feeling cold so am hoping I havent picked up any bugs while sitting in the damp yesterday.
Off to collect the keys for our group meeting place later and then am planning to just sit for a while as we are off to Blackpool tonight so I would like to be rested
I saw most of the food bank program yesterday but missed the last twenty minutes, I had been really impressed with the program as I felt it evened up all the benefit scrounger type programs we usually get, so am more than a little disappointed by the whole conman thing.0 -
