ordered some shoes for grandaughter from mothercare, paid to have them delivered on a friday when daughter was in all day home from work.
At 7.00pm shoes hadn't turned up,
Rang mothercare, who told us contact yodel, we did and yodel said they was signed for, we asked who by, and all they could say was maybe a neighbour, well, we asked the neighbours, none of them had them.
Bit of backwards and forwards with mothercare and they said they would send the same out and again a delivery date was arranged, the next friday but at daughters m-i-l's as she was at work that day.
On the thursday, whilst daughter was at her m-i-l's the door bell went, yodel with the new shoes, daughter told the driver the above story, and he said (named her address) she said yes, he said i delivered them, and told her that her house was a end house with a big garden, daughter said yes that's my house, he said the lad at the door signed for them, daughter said what lad, there was only me and my mum in, he said it was about 2.00pm and the lad at the front door said he would sign for them.
Around that time 2.00pm daughter went upstairs to put some washing on radiators, and left me downstairs listening for the bell, which never went, when she came down, she thought i'd missed the driver, as there was a pizza leaflet behind the door, but i'd heard the letterbox go, and just opened the living room door and saw the leaflet and left it there.
so putting 2 and 2 together it seems that this lad was delivering pizza leaflets, and he said he would sign for the parcel, it was a small parcel, and he probably thought it was a i-phone or something expensive.
Delivery lads face was a picture when daughter explained this to him, as he is supposed to see you going in the house or at least have the door open.
Today a knock comes to daughters house, and it was a lady, and she said that her husband yesterday was doing a bit of work in the shed, and he saw this parcel which had been thrown over the wall, it was the babies shoes. Probably thought when it wasn't worth anything he didn't want them.
mothercare was good, as they sent the new shoes out for when we wanted them with no questions.
Yodel don't seem to care.
