Cancelled?

Hey 
i bought something on the 21st which upon closer inspection was counterfit, i opened a case with ebay and returned the item to seller via special delivery. The item was signed for and seller has confirmed that they have recieved it.
In the case the seller has said he refunded me days ago and that i should take it up with paypal.
In my paypal the transaction is showing as completed (as in the sellers been paid) but at the side of it it says cancelled (Order status/Actions)
I have now escalated my case to customer service so will i actually get my refund now?
the cancelled status only appeared yesterday, it wasnt there before that?
