I have just started selling on eBay and have come across something and not sure what to do . The auction finished and a few minutes later the buyer sent a message asking if he can pick up and pay cash as he lives 2 minutes away . Can I do this as far as I can see it will show up as unpaid on eBay or is there a way to mark it as paid .

Yes this is fine - with collection cash is preferable anyway, as if they pay by paypal they can then claim to have never received the item and open a dispute
On your My eBay page next to the item that has sold there is some icons, next to this is a drop down list called more actions - within this there is one to mark as payment received

Hope that makes sense - I'm a bit new to the eBay selling too

doesnt matter if it stays as unpaid or not, that has no bearing on your/buyers ability to leave feedback or proceed further with the transaction.

you also save a tiny fotune on paypal fee's by accepting cash on receipt and not to mention that you pocket the cash quicker.

just be wary of anyone who asks to collect after paying by paypal, never agree to this as you need to have proof of delivery in the event a claim is opened.
