Travelodge Borehamwood which one to book

There are two Travelodge hotels in Borehamwood. One on Elstree Way and the other on Studio Way.
On Tripadviser there are only (poor) reviews of the Studio Way Hotel.
Anyone know anything about these Hotels to give me advise on which one to book.
Thanks

I wouldn't bother staying in any Travelodge. You may pay for a reservation but it is meaningless - if they can sell your room again and force you to go to another of their lodges they will to maximise profits.
On top of their dirty, shabby run down rooms, why would you want to use such a crummy chain of doss houses.
Try PremierInn instead - much nicer rooms and a company that appears to understand that customers are more than just walking credit cards to be milked.0 -

How many have you stayed in that are like that? Would be good to know which ones, so we can avoid them.
All the ones I have stayed in have been ok and I have never been turned away, i always call ahead to let them know when i will be arriving (if I am going to be late).
I agree premier inn are usaully better but I have never been able to book one where i want to go for £90 -

ALL hotel chains will overbook on the assumption that at least some guests will cancel at the last minute or just not show up. This is not something specific to Travelodge.
I agree that some Travelodges are awful, but others are great - and no other chain can come anywhere near them for price. For several years now I've had comfortable week long holidays in Central London Travelodges for less that what a single nights stay in the County Hall Premier Inn would cost me.0 -
Ok - I confess to living in Borehamwood (well someone has to) so can give you some info on the comparison between the two.
The travelodge on Studio Way is a former innkeepers hotel and has a toby carvery on site- it's the one nearer the town centre, but not really in walking distance of the train station - it would take about 10 minutes to walk to the main shops. It's also in a residential area. it's a single, or maybe two storey hotel. There may be some building noise as there is a new housing estate being built right next to it
The travelodge on Elstree Way is near to the main A1, but won't suffer from A1 traffic noise - it's right next to a BP garage and is nearer the industrial estate - it's much newer than the Studio Way travelodge - only about 4 or 5 years old at most. It's not really within walking distance of anything - except the BP garage! It's a multi-story hotel, and there will be some traffic noise, but not any building noise like the other one.
Both have car parks
If it were me, I'd probably go for the one on Elstree Way as it's newer and cleaner
Hope that's of some help - PM me if you want any more details0 -
Thank you jgee,
some really useful local knowledge, exactly what I was looking for rather than the cynical remarks some posters made.
We have booked a week on Elstree Way.
I find myself (plus 2) HAVING to visit London for one week at that time and need to keep costs under control.
The average price is no where near £9. I imagine those are prices available on promo which entice people to spend money on a Hotel room that they did not need.
When you have to be pro-active to book the prices are not as low. I wish it were otherwise, but that's life.
After our trip I will post a review on Tripadviser. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
Not sure if you booked saver prices (non refundable) or flexible, but there is a Premier Inn about 100 yards down the road which is a lot nicer than both the Travelodges - it may be an option.
Sorry I didn't think of that yesterday0
