Tesco car insurance

Does anybody use Tesco for car insurance? Are they a good bunch to go with?

My renewal is up next month so thought i'd shop around, Tesco seems to be the cheapest by miles (£200 cheaper than anything on confused) and i suspect will be cheaper than my renewal price.

Is there a reason why  like are they rubbish! :rotfl:

Hi, Ive been with Tesco for a few years now and they are fine, I paid something like £11 extra to have the courtesy car bit on and when I needed one all the garage did was phone Tesco, they confirmed it, and I had a courtesy car in five minutes. Never had to deal with them for a claim or anything, although I did go through them for a new windscreen. UK call centres and all very efficient. :) I have found them to be the cheapest also, along with Churchill.

Yes I was with them last year and they were great to deal with. Haven't stayed with them this year but that was because of price and nothing else ;)

I got the impression a few years ago that they were just rebranded Direct Line only slightly dearer?

Yeah they are - there documents and agreements etc. are exactly the same as direct line but for some reason they charge different amounts for insurance quotes. Last year I moved to Tesco Car Insurance from Direct Line as they were cheaper and this year I have moved back to Direct Line as they were the cheapest this year
