Index Tracker - Regular Savings

Hi there,
I am new to investing and would like to start a regular savings plan with H-L into one or two of the following index tracker funds:
BlackRock UK Equity Tracker
BlackRock Emerging Markets Equity Tracker
BlackRock North American Equity Tracker
I chose BlackRock as there is no monthly platform fee as opposed to the HSBC ones.
I would like to invest £50 / month, so £100 if I choose two, for at least 5 years.
I am wondering if it actually is worth it or shall I just stick into a savings account? I probably won't need the money after the 5 years, but that's how long I plan to regularly save the £50 per fund. Might then leave the money invested for longer - 10, 15 or more years without adding any extra money.
Appreciate any advice, cheers
M
