Could it be true? Are most life insurance agents “MODEL T” SALESMEN ?

The problem with common sense is it’s not all that common. Common sense would dictate you sell products that are right for the problem. And yet, many agents out there continue to sell one product for every client problem!

And you can get any color as long as it’s black…! Why do they do this? Is it all they know how to sell, refusal to learn something new or simply stuck in the past? After all, if they wanted a product with higher targets, they’d be looking at something new, which leads me to think they’re lazy or worse, uninformed. So what percentage of the agent pool are slackers? Is it above or below 50%?

Let’s assume you are open-minded, you do what’s right for your client, you stay current in the industry and you are aware that there are new products offering the best of all worlds. I’d even bet you long ago threw away your first generation, corded mobile phone, your camera doesn’t take film and you can find old friends on your computer. If that’s you, we have something to talk about. Your insurance world has progressed.
If you want to know the “Hot Product” in the insurance world, I’m a phone call away. How good is it you ask? It’s your magic bullet to make some great sales before the lazy agents find out!

Let’s go back to simple math. Suppose over 50% of the agents are NOT staying current and let’s say it’s 80% for argument’s sake. That would mean those 80 percenters are selling antiquated products to their clients. It could be an overstatement, but even if I’m somewhat right, that’s a lot of policyholders who are the unknowing owners of either an under performing or overpriced product.

If you are good at what you do, it’s a golden opportunity! I would venture to say that those prospects have more in common with YOU than with their old agents. Heck, they might even own the same cell phone and camera as you.

Now get out there and see how many policy owners have no idea what they could have purchased. When you find one, call me, we will find the right product solution.
